PFAS in Menstrual Product Bill - Passed and Signed by Governor

Ban on PFAS in consumer and household products

Status:

Passed Senate/Pending Assembly

A.7738A(Glick)/S.9073A(Harckham)

Bill Description

This bill bans the sale of textiles (e.g. table clothes, pet beds, bags), rugs, dental floss, cookware, ski waxes, paint, children’s products (e.g., toys, bedding, strollers), and cleaning products with intentionally added PFAS. These products do not need to include PFAS as there are already known safer, cost-effective alternatives available. Several states within the last few years have already banned PFAS in these products.
